Hank Aaron: the case for the GOAT

    RF · Braves · Born 5 February 1934, Mobile, Alabama, USA · Died 2021 · Career 1954–1976

Right fielder who spent 21 seasons with the Milwaukee and Atlanta Braves, finishing with the Milwaukee Brewers, and broke Babe Ruth's home run record in 1974.

Why Hank Aaron could be the GOAT

Aaron still holds the records for RBI and total bases, and he broke Ruth's home run mark while enduring racist threats. He never hit 50 homers in a season; he was simply excellent every year for two decades. His 3,771 hits mean he would have 3,000 even without a single home run.

    Hank Aaron head to head

How the ranking works. Every head-to-head vote is a result, like a game. The standings use a Bradley–Terry model, the same idea behind chess ratings: beating a highly rated legend counts for more than beating a long shot. Ratings are shown on a chess-style scale centred on 1500.

One vote per matchup per person. If you see a pairing again in another session your new answer replaces the old one, so nobody can stuff the ballot by repeating a matchup.

Anonymous by design. No account needed. A quick bot check from Cloudflare runs once when you arrive, and your votes are tied to a random ID kept in your browser, not to your name or email. Privacy policy.
