Bobby Orr: the case for the GOAT

    D · Bruins · Born 20 March 1948, Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada · Career 1966–1979

A revolutionary defenceman for the Bruins whose end-to-end rushes changed how the position was played, before knee injuries cut his career short with Chicago.

Why Bobby Orr could be the GOAT

Orr is the only defenceman ever to win the scoring title, and he did it twice while also being the league's best defender. He won eight straight Norris Trophies and three straight Harts. His peak was brief, but many experts say no player has ever been as dominant at both ends of the ice.

    Bobby Orr head to head

How the ranking works. Every head-to-head vote is a result, like a game. The standings use a Bradley–Terry model, the same idea behind chess ratings: beating a highly rated legend counts for more than beating a long shot. Ratings are shown on a chess-style scale centred on 1500.

One vote per matchup per person. If you see a pairing again in another session your new answer replaces the old one, so nobody can stuff the ballot by repeating a matchup.

Anonymous by design. No account needed. A quick bot check from Cloudflare runs once when you arrive, and your votes are tied to a random ID kept in your browser, not to your name or email. Privacy policy.
